    Comments:   A well worn example of one of the several 1694 varieties, showing the fourth obverse and second reverse used in the series.

    Provenance:  Donated to Notre Dame in 1887 as part of a 2,300 item coin collection (see: The Notre Dame Scholastic,  vol. 21 (September 1887) 45.

    Weight:  135.1 g   (8.75 grams)                  Diameter:  28.4 mm

    Comments:  From the location of the hair ribbon near the L this well worn copper can be identified as the second of William's two obverses, which dates to the end of his reign during 1699-1701. Note the reverse has been worn smooth.

    Weight:  134.6 g   (8.71 grams)                  Diameter:  28.2 mm

    Comments:  An example of a fairly well worn and somewhat beat up regal issue. This is the first year in which the third and final obverse portrait of George II was used, the reverse shos the second and final reverse of his series.
