FAQ: British Coin Value

One place to find British coin values is in the current annual edition of Coincraft's Standard Catalog of English and UK Coins 1066 to Date. As an example, in the 1998 edition the retail value of a George II halfpenny dated 1752 is listed as follows:

Fine: 8
Very Fine: 30
Extremely Fine: 120

These prices are British pounds. In 1998 a British pound was about $1.60 US.
