Comments:
The obverse shows an undraped bust right Washington, to each side are four stars, each having five points. The Washington obverse is cataloged by Fuld as Civil War reverse die 1138. This token was issued in silver, copper, brass, nickel and white metal. It was one of six Washington bust varieties produced for this druggist (Baker 517-522). Six other Brimelow tokens did not include Washington. The storcard side of the token shown above (which is a reverse in the Washington series but is treated as the obverse in the storecard series) displays a mortar and pestle within an olive wreath with a large numeral one above. This die was also joined with another die (Fuld CWT 630K-3b) that explained the large one represented: GOOD FOR / ONE GLASS / OF SODA.
Provenance: Part of an anonymous donation consisting of 1100 tokens and medals covering the Nineteenth century, primarily up through the Civil War era.

Comments: The obverse shows an undraped bust left Washington, to the right are six stars while to the left are seven stars, each having five points. The Washington obverse is cataloged by Fuld as Civil War reverse die 1139. This token was issued in silver, copper, brass, nickel and white metal. It was one of six Washington bust varieties produced for this druggist (Baker 517-522). Six other Brimelow tokens did not include Washington. Comments: The obverse shows an undraped bust right Washington with crossed American flags in the background. The Washington obverse is cataloged by Fuld as Civil War reverse die 1143. This token was issued in silver, copper, brass, nickel and lead. The storecard side of the token contains a circular wreath and two five pointed stars. The Broas Brothers issued at least four different styles of Civil war tokens but only one with Washington.
